1) The settings for displaying non printing characters are only remembered until one leaves the programm.

2) Pressing the button 'non printing characters on/off' doesn't 
force the paragraph end symbols to show up. Activating them in Tools>Options also only persits until closing of OO.

First this problem is assigned to the wrong component, because this is an UI 
problem and must assigned to Stefan.Baltzer.

Second please don't report two problems at once.

Third is it a general problem of the version 609 - the configuration isn't 
stored, but this will fixed in the next version.

As Juergen told already, saving of configuration information will be fixed in 
a future version. 

What is set unter Tools-Options-Text Document-Contents-Nonprinting Characters 
defines WHICH nonprinting characters are shown if you switch them on via 
toolbar icon or (vias Menu): View-Nonprinting Characters.
