Description issues@www 2000-12-09 16:39:59 UTC
One of the few things that Microsoft has done right in their office is that
selecting text by painting with the mouse selects by default on word edges.
This is a feature I'd very much like to see in sw and also all other components
that use text.

Oops, that slipped to commit a bit too fast. Some more info:
it should work by defaulting to word boundaries on click&drag, but
switching to characters if the user jiggles the mouse or moves slowly or
somehow like that expresses the desire to select to the character.

I hope this time the issue gets reassigned...

When double-clicking while selecting you get exactly the desired feature. Thus
no changes will be made. Often people rather have a lot of problems fiddling
around with marking only parts of words.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
