Description jens-heiner.rechtien 2001-01-12 18:38:07 UTC
OpenOffice 614, Linux, displayed on Linux XFree86 4.0.

The default font is so small that it is nearly invisible. Redirecting the display to a Xsun server shows correct
behaviour.
Comment 1 Unknown 2001-01-16 16:32:53 UTC
Problem was the wrong fonts.dirs - because not all fonts are available in
OpenOffice.
Should be fixed from Tom Verbeek.
Comment 2 stx123 2001-04-05 15:53:30 UTC
Please don't assume "should be fixed".
It isn't fixed, it's hacked.
see extras/unx/source/fonts/truetype/fonts.dir Rev. 1.2.4.1 for the hack.
That's no final solution.

Comment 4 tom 2001-04-24 16:53:25 UTC
hmm, I'll accept this issue although I don't know the resolution yet...
Comment 5 christof.pintaske 2001-04-25 08:16:31 UTC
CP->TV: The problem is the file share/fonts/truetype/fonts.dir which includes
the andale font for both SO and OO. The font is not open source so it is not
included in OO. You have to maintain a fonts.dir for OO without andale and one
for SO with andale.
The current "solution" was to hack or to branch the fonts.dir for each and every
OO release.
Comment 6 tom 2001-05-15 09:49:51 UTC
The newly acquired fonts for StarOffice 6 cannot be opensourced. Therefore they
are not available. Since all old fonts have been removed there is no need for a
fonts.dir on OOo. We removed the old fonts and the fonts.dir starting SRC632.
