If you're referring to the way the "From" address is munged on http://sw.openoffice.org/sw-cvs/ this is actually a "feature" of SourceCast. We veil email addresses as "user at host.domain" in order to prevent website crawlers and spammers from finding new suckers, i mean customers. The mail notification feature from SourceCast's cvs always uses your domain alias address which is <cvsloginname>@openoffice.org. Select "User Preferences" from http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/TStartPage to customize the actual address mail is forwarded to. Again, we feel this is a feature which gives open-source developers on the site a permanent alias for all their work related to the project. I'm marking this as "invalid" as i believe it is a result of misunderstanding of sourcecast features and feature combinations. If there are remaining issues please feel free to reopen with some concrete examples. Thanks for your explanation. I was not aware that xx@openoffice.org is a valid email address and that messages to this address are forwarded to the address mentioned in the preferences of user xx. given Stefan's most recent comments, i'm now marking this as "closed". |
