My experience is that I cannot install to a general location and have multiple
users have access to Open Office.  It appears to me that each must have a
personal copy installed.  Is the correct, or have I not understood something
basic.

I hope this is only a documentation bug, since that would be easiest to fix.

Yes, you're right, this bug is fixed in 614.
