Description Frank Schönheit 2004-09-29 12:49:49 UTC
- open a new text document
- press F4, so the data source browser (DSB) opens
- in the DSB, select the "biblio" table of the "Bibliography"
- in the context menu of "Bibliography", chose "Edit database file..."
=> the database application opens with the Bibliography database
- from the menu, chose Edit|Database|Properties -> the properties dialog opens
- On the "Additional settings" tab page, choose a character set different from the
  currently selected one
- dismiss the dialog with OK
- save the database by pressing the respective button in the toolbar
- (you might verify that the setting was indeed applied by opening the dialog,
again)
- close the Bibliography database with File|Close from the menu
- in the text document, press F4, so the DSB closes
- re-open the DSB, and repeat all steps until you are again in the "Properties"
dialog
=> the character set is switched back to its original value.

It seems that when the DSB is closed, the properties as known to the DSB's
database connection are stored in the database file, overriding *any* change you
previously did in the database application. This is definately undesired.

It's much simpler than described above: The "Character set" setting is saved,
but never loaded ...
