Under Mac OS X 10.5.6 cannot select the source and hence cannot scan directly
from OOO. Scanner works fine when launched from the scanner application that
came with the Epson CX8400 MFP.

In Mac OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) a new Scan-API has been introduced and you are able to scan through 
the network easily into Preview.app. It would be great if the "dead menu entry" in OOo Insert / Image / 
Scan could be used for that new API to the Mac OS X system.
