Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 101028
WW8: export changes indent of 2nd level in list
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:36 UTC
I know that the saving functions to MS Word 97/2000/XP cannot be perfected as the format is proprietary. However, I would expect that anything generated by OOo3 would show up nicely when reloaded back to OOo3. Attached are documents that show otherwise. HansDeragon-CV-en.odt shows up nicely, without any issues. Save the document as "MS Word 97/2000/XP" under the filename HansDeragon-CV-en.doc. It still looks good after the save. Close OOo3 and reload HansDeragon-CV-en.doc. Notice that on the 2nd page the lowest level bullets have changed. Also notice that on the last page, the table with the education background is now completely distorted. The lowest level bullets on that page are also wrong. This .doc file appears even worse on MS Word, but at a minimum, we should expect OOo3 to reload any of its generated document (assuming no data loss occured like when saving to html) and render them properly.
Created attachment 61516 [details] Original file without distortions.
Created attachment 61517 [details] Distorted MS Word file generated by OOo3 which does not render properly when reloaded in OOo3.
Please read: http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html Especially "One problem - One issue". Here obviously 2 problems: bullets and tables. Also, please check for duplicates before submitting issues (especially MS Word im/export). Now waiting for the MS-Word Im/Export expert to analyze this. :)
Put MRU on C/C.
The table problem has been solved for OOo 3.1, see issue 99024. MRU->OD: see the list in the new attachment focusing on the list-indent problem. Export it to WW8 format and reopen -> the second level does not have a negative first-line indent anymore and also additional tab stops have been added.
first investigations reveal the following: - the list label alignment is not correct - it has to be "right" instead of "left". Looking at Microsoft Word it seems that Microsoft Word does not support label alignment "right" for bullet list. deeper investigations needed. - deeper investigations are needed regarding the additional tab stops.
setting keyword "numbering"
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
