Hello,

we tried to secure our network with policies and different user- rights. Now we
noticed that it is possible, even for a normal user, to loosen the macro-
security in OOo via the options- menu. Is it possible to grey out this site for
normal users or to forbid starting this mask all together? Ideally one would
install OOo and then, depending on the users authentication, the edit rights
would be set, is this feasible? Basically user- orientated. Administrators would
than still get access to the macro level. How can we best achieve this? What
config- file should we edit, the common.xcu (
"install-dir/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Common.xcu" or
"install-dir/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Common.xcu")? Or is it
another file where you configurate the optionsmenu? Thank you for helping.

Have a look at:
C:\Programme\OpenOffice.org
3\Basis\share\registry\schema\org\openoffice\Office\OptionsDialog.xcs

i will include a sample *.xcu file

OOo's configuration core already has support for such szenarios, but no easy
tooling.

A quick search gave me this old email which contains some information and
further links:
