Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11115
Saving files in MS format does not automatically Change file extension.
Last modified: 2003-03-11 18:01:50 UTC
The Summary says it all. If I save a file as a .doc document when I first save the file, this is never a problem. However, if I first save file sin openoffice format and then try to save it as a .doc file, it leaves the openoffice three letter extension at the end of the file. It does format the file correctly. All I need to do is rename the file with .doc at the end. However, it is a bit of a pain ahnd sometimes I forget. Believe it or not, some of my classmates do not use OPen Office yet! I have tried playing around with that check box about automatic filename extenions... it doesn;t work. Thanks!
duplicate of issue 2543, which is a WONTFIX (in real a CANTFIX, but Issuezilla doesn't know this :) In OOo 1.1, the behaviour of the save-as will be changed, so that the initial suggestion for the file name does not contain an extension, so this problem here isn't as annoying as today .... *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 2543 ***
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
