Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 118303
EPS Rendering fails after undetermined number of resizes and displays red bounding box instead
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:35:17 UTC
Created attachment 76701 [details] An example EPS image that can be used to demonstrate the bug. I can successfully import EPS images into the Drawing. However, after some number of resizes (generally, to shrink the image, if that helps), the EPS rendering seems to crash and only a red bounding box for the images is displayed. Most of the time, this results in all the displayed EPS images switching to red bounding boxes, but I've seen at least one case where it didn't. (Perhaps something to do with not having to redraw the images in that case?). I can still resize the EPS images after they switch to bound-box form. Restarting Office seems to cause the image to redraw correctly, with no issues otherwise. I've attached a sample EPS. It maybe takes 20 seconds of fidgeting with the size to case Draw to stop rendering it correctly.
ALG->david_juergens: Thanks for the report and the example. I checked with current version and OOo3.3, but I do not see eps content at all. Checked on Mac, seems that there is special handling for Macs, there the content is shown. Indeed, it disappears after some resizing. Save/load, closing and new doc does not help, only OO restart. ALG->HDU: Please take a look. Someone(hdu, pl?) added a mac-only eps-visualisation. This works, but seems to misuse some system ressources in a way that it hangs after a while for the thread OOo is running.
