No Microsoft Equation object shown in Apache Open Office
Last modified: 2012-06-14 08:54:49 UTC
Created attachment 77677 [details] Example 6.docx - original file with MS Equation object, *.jpg - how document looks like in MS Office, Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice Apache OpenOffice 3.4.0 (Final) AOO340m1 (Build 9590) - Rev. 1327774 Russian UI/Locale on Russian Windows XP Professional SP3 (32bit) In Apache OpenOffice 3.4.0 (Final) there is no Microsoft Equation object in document at all. In other office suites: - MS Office 2007 SP3 (all fine) - LibreOffice 3.5.3.2 (Final) (object is shown, but incorrectly)
Repro at my side, change to confirmed. Also try it on Symphony, the Microsoft Equation object can display fine on Symphony.
Are you sure it is an "Microsoft Equation Object"? In my Word 2010 the object is a drawing object not a formula object. Nevertheless AOO does not show it.
Check it again in detail, The sample file In MS Office 2010 it is draw object. And I also create a Microsoft Equation object, then open in AOO, nothing display.

May be I was wrong with the type of object, but AOO does not show any MS Equation objects or draw objects. Attached new file Equation.doc with MS Equation objects. They are not showed in AOO.

Strange enough, but Symphony 3.0.1 displays the MS Equation objects and draw objects without any difficulty (you may open both attachements in Symphony and everything is OK)

(In reply to comment #6) > Created attachment 78313 [details] > Sample file LibreOffice 3.5.4 displays all examples of MS Equation objects fine, but there are some problems with draw objects
