some space are not the same size

Created attachment 78725 [details] spacing not equal Test: Starting from font size 7, type your full name (or any string) and go to the next line continuously type the same string with increment of the font size by 0.5 do this until you reach font size 20. For the inconsistency to be more glaring you should highlight the texts. Test result: I noticed a spacing problem which made me (at first) think the text size’s increment was not consistent. The spacing was not the same. For one single space throughout the document some space was not equal. The lines with font sizes 8, 10.5, 12.5, 15, 17, 19.5. Comparing open office outputs to the outputs from Microsoft word the spacing problem was not present.

I cannot confirm it. Here on WinXP and AOO r1359641 the size increases smoothly. Do you see the problem with every font, or only with specific fonts?

The test was initially for checking if the "size increases smoothly"(hope you are not confusing my report for this?). But then i discovered on the line with 8, 10.5, 12.5, 15, 17, 19.5 as font size, the space was bigger than the space on other lines even though they contain the same spacing. This report is about the space.

Created attachment 78742 [details] screenshot from AOO r1359641 on WinXP Here it is OK, see attached screen shot. Therefore my question has been, whether do you see the problem with all fonts. BTW, I see such anomalies in my Word 2010.
Apart from Arial which i conducted the test in, i now tried it in Al Bayan, Arimo, and candara and the problem is still present.
Sample documents were provided by the user. Has any one been able to reproduce the issue? Is it sensitive to font, page size, OS?
Hello, I cheked this bug on windows using AOO 4.0 and the problem did not occur
One of my students just filed homework with me in which he says replicated this bug in version 4.0.1 (Apache OpenOffice Version 4.0.1 AOO401m5(Build:9714) - Rev.152495) using Mac OSx version 10.9.
Steps and Observations to encounter the bug I started testing my name with different font size in Ms-word. I started with font size-7 and incrementing 0.5 in every step till 17. In order to make text more clear, I have highlighted the text. From the pitcher below, it is can be clearly seen that the spacing between all the lines is constant throughout Now, I have performed the same steps in open office version 4.1.1 Starting from font size-7 to 17 with a constant increment of 0.5 on each and every step. In order to make text more clear, it has been highlighted. From the pitcher below, it can be clearly seen that the spacing between all the lines are not constant at all. They are changing as the font size changes in every step.
