Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 125801
double-click in greyish space outside page boundaries => fatal error "index out of bounds"
Last modified: 2014-10-30 11:42:36 UTC
Writer crashes systematically on a double click in the grey space outside the page boundaries (Print Layout).
The symptoms that you report are not typical. Most users have no problems with using OpenOffice. Unfortunately, we cannot offer further advice without more details: 1) does this happen to all documents or just one? 2) did you reset your AOO profile? For 1, attach a sample document For 2, see our support forum: https://forum.openoffice.org Feel free to complete with requested informations and reopen this report.
I performed the following steps and checks - I removed (twice) = entire user profile (/Users/paul_b/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice/) = saved state (/Users/paul_b/Library/Saved Application State/org.openoffice.script.savedState) - issue (double click outside page bounderaties make writer crash) reoccurs - crash does not happen with newly created documents (att: 'NewlyCreated.odt') - crash happens with newly created document into which part of a crashing document is copied (att: 'New-copied-into.odt') - crash happens with previously created documents, with older versions of writer (att: 'Bestelling.20091107.odt') - sometime though not always a crash report is created (att: 'CrashReport-20141030-1229.rtf') So - within my context the issue can be reproduced systematically.
