Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 125890
The "Keep Current Format" (versus ODF ) option is misleading - it should be "Keep Selected Format"
Last modified: 2015-05-02 13:28:09 UTC
The "Keep Current Format" (versus "Save in ODF") option is misleading - it should be "Keep Selected Format" or "Save in Selected Format". To replicate the issue; 1. ensure "Warn when not saving in ODF or default format" is enabled (Tools - options - Load/Save - General) 2. Create new document/spreadsheet 3. Save - select file type as .DOC/.XLS/.CSV (anything but ODF) 4. Note the "Keep Current Format" option (versus "Save in ODF") is misleading - it should be "Keep Selected Format" or "Save in Selected Format"
Not a defect. Changed to ENHANCEMENT and will solicit input from "users" and "dev" list.
Created attachment 84243 [details] Resulting dialog box To clarify, this is the dialog box that results from following the procedure.
Note if the file is saved already (in format x, e.g. odt), and then the user selects to save as (in format y, e.g. .doc), then the "keep current format" option is especially confusing. In this example selecting "keep current format" will save in .doc rather than maintaining the current format .odt.
