Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 126316
bug when inserting images into a group object
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:55:32 UTC
When I enter a group object, wishing to replace one of the grouped obejcts - an image - by another image, I select this object and choose afterwards "inssert/image from file". The image is inserted correctly at the intended point, BUT other drawings of the file are deleted. If you know it (never use insert from a file within a group object) it is of course easy to work around it. But if you don't know it, you might loose a lot of work ....
I was not able to reproduce what you described. An inserted picture doesn't make vanished other shapes in a group. Could you attach a sample ODG document to show the problem? Once did, so this Issue may be closed or progressed as necessary - otherwise the issue may be Resolved as Invalid in the future.
Created attachment 84746 [details] ODG File and example png Open the ODG Select, enter one the for groups, select one object of the group and choose from the menu: insert image from file. Workaround: To replace an object of a group just enter the group, copy the obejct, leave the group, ctrl v, select the pasted object, now choose 'insert image from file', ctrl-x, enter the group again, selected the object to replace, ctrl-v ....

Can reproduce the behaviour under Ubuntu 64bit. Objects will be deleted. AOO crashes by closing. If I create a simple test file with only one group the crash also appears.
