Screen Artifacts

When the drop down option list is open in the program and the user goes to another program, the list appears on the display over the new program.  Also, it often occurs that the program will remember some items on its display and keep them on the desktop even after Writer is closed.

The screenshot attachment shows the artifacts that remain on the display after they are closed.  Yes, the printer settings and properties windows were already closed.

More screenshots to follow.

I am using Xubuntu 14.04.
