Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12893
Imports/opens .emf file not correctly
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:12:46 UTC
I got some graphics that where exported as .emf files with Corel Draw 9. They contain simple colored rectangles and some text labels. When opening them in OO 1.0.2 (same in 1.0.1) the text doesn't show up at all and some of the color fillings don't show up either.
Created attachment 5390 [details] sample of .emf file that is incorrectly imported
This is reproduceable in version1.0.2 and in a current internal version.
Reassigned to Sven.
Yes, I can see the problem, I will try to fix this soon.
BTW: Workaround for this problem ist to import the graphic in another program e.g. MSWord and copy paste it in Writer. . Not the way it should be, but a quick solution...:-)
The emf did import correctly in 1.1beta1, but since 1.1beta2 it doesn't import the text size correctly. I get the right vector graphics but the text in the graphics is very small.
.
Thorsten, can you please takeover this bug.
"According to the OpenOffice.org roadmap (http://tools.openoffice.org/releases) this issue was retargeted to OOo Later."
Will take care of that, when time permits. Seems again to be a problem with the map mode.
I have similar problems. I need to import diagrams of a software that produces *.emf-files. When I try to import them into OOo I don´t get a white but a black background. A possible work around is to open the files in IrfanView, save them again and do the import. MS Word shows the desired white background. Do you think there is a more elegant and direct way to import the *.emf-files?
Created attachment 12897 [details] this image shows a black background in OOo and a white in all other applications
@sj: please take this one back
Fig.1e in BadEMF.org was obtained via insert>picture>fromFile BodeERCG.emf. In the .emf file, strings such as 'gain avec charge' and '-2 dB' hide other lines; in Fig.1e, they don't. (This bug is 7 yr old!)
