Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14874
Autosave window pops open during a manually started save
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:35 UTC
After opening and updating a spreadsheet for a few minutes I click on disk icon in toolbar to start a save. While my save function is still running (only about 40% complete) an AutoSave window pops up and asks if I want to perform a save. Yes, I have AutoSave set on for 10 min. interval as well as to Prompt. Shouldn't the Autosave function, and associated prompt feature if turned on, be disabled while a save is in progress? Regards, Mike Smith
Autosave is independant from normal save => enhancement
Summary: Autosave window pops open during a manually started save. Autosave function, and associated prompt feature if turned on, should be disabled while a save is in progress. Hello Niklas, please give approval for this evaluated OO.o 2.0 flagged issue. If you confirm with the target OO.o 2.0, then please keep it on your owner (or the owner of the concerning developer) for implementation. In case you want this issue for 'OOo Later', then please reset the target milestone. If you decline the issue finally, please set the resolution to 'Wontfix' (but do not close). In case of 'OOo Later' or 'Wontfix' please reset it on Bettina's owner. Thank you.
according to the announcement on releases (http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7503) this issue will be re-targeted to OOo Later.
I can also confirm this behavior under the writer component (OOo 1.1.2) under Linux. Luckily, I had prompting on for the autosave. I can see a scenario where the system could automatically start autosaving a file that was being manually saved. Would the result be data corruption of the file?!? I believe this issued needs to be addressed as a DEFECT and not an ENHANCEMENT unless data integrity is assured.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
