Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 149
Some errors when I have encountered when I was using the WORD-processor
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:34 UTC
The "Insert Special Character Feature" is currently limited to ISO8859-1 range, it does not allow anyone to insert characters whose code is 0x100 or over, including those extra CP-1252 characters and those fi/fl ligatures. It seems to crash or takes forever when I save a large Writer document in the .XML format. The classic ".sdw" binary format seems to load quicker. Binary saving to ".sdw" has not been tested. Entering in an unfindable file in "open file" may cause the program to enter an endless loop of dialog saying "non-existant document", "non-existant object", etc. Keyboard nagavation in "open file" does not work correctly. The HTML editor seems to ignore tags such as: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> and it displays text as it is ISO8859-1 or Windows-CP1252
First this problem is assigned to the wrong component, because this is an UI problem and must assigned to Stefan.Baltzer. Second please don't report more then one problem at once.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
