Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 1535
middle mouse button = paste does not work
Last modified: 2008-05-17 23:15:42 UTC
there is a option to select middle mouse click = paste clipboard but this does not seem to take. After saying ok, and trying it, it does not work and upon going back into the settings I discover it did not make the change.
Reassigned to Hasan.
Your Feature
The dialog setting will work in 640H. The resulting action "Paste selection" will take a bit longer. Since the implementation of this feature is application dependent I'll keep this issue until it works everywhere. (Internal issues to this feature exist.)
this feature is an integral part of linux. Every program I run except openoffice allows this. Should it at least work in linux?
Since OpenOffice uses VCL the standard handling of the window manager doesn't count. The middle mouse action is directed to a Window::Command(const CommandEvent&) event (when the option is set to "Paste selection"). The necessary code for the Window::Command() method has to be implemented in each application. This work is in progress right now.
.
This feature is now implemented in the word processor, in the build 641.
Is this behavior going to be default on X-windows based platforms? Or should I file a separate bug for that? The current situation in 638 (dig through several menus until you find a non-intuitive option that is the default on all other programs on the system) is really unacceptable...
Yes, this behavior goes to be default on X-windows based platforms.
