Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 165
Huge print files from Presentation Package
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:34 UTC
THe attached file is an example of huge print files produced by OpenOffice. Printer driver in use is that standard Windows 98 or Windows ME Xerox DocuColor40 w/FieryXJ RIP driver, which is a colour Laser device. Under openoffice, the print file for a single slide is 11.9Mb. All the file contains is 6 words and 12 double headed arrows. If the file is exported to Powerpoint, the print file is 48k (250 times smaller)
Created attachment 30 [details] StarOffice file which create 11.9M print files
in work.
When starting a print, the printer-warning for transparency appears, although no transparency was set.
The responsible engineer for the printing options is KA.
This bug(s) should have been fixed in the meantime, I think. I have to take a look on it.
Print size comments: 1. The transparency warning is ok. The arrows with color 'Sun4', contained in one group object, are lines with transparency set. 2. We've got the option to ignore transparency (even in 5.2 with service pack). Choosing this option gives a print file size of about 16K...
