Description issues@www 2000-11-19 22:27:24 UTC
The file connected with this has been sent direct to stefan.baltzer
as it is Sun Internal.

I have been unable, by nature of this problem, to cut it down in size.

the problem is that the font size changes and paragraph settings appear to
change.

If the word file is first saved with track changes turn off, and all changed
accepted, openoffice does a MUCH better job.

For example, the first 3 lines of the document should read:
Draft (12.5.200027.07.2000) [Subject to contract]

Date 2000

(bold)Sun Microsystems Ltd

(where vertical white space is present, and the "12.5.2000" is deleted text,
and the 27.07.2000 is new text.

Openoffice deletes the vertical white spacing, and the bold text of Sun
Microsystems Ltd. It also does not display the "15.5.2000" text, instead
displays a blank variable field.

Further in the document you will see the text in section 8.5 and 9.1 are
different font sizes, although they are the same in the source file.

Again, if the edits were accepted in word before importing to openoffice, this
fault does not occur.

Reassigned to Michael Ruess.

I think the Word-file is broken in this case. When I load it in Word2000 and
re-save, then everything is fine on Import in Writer.
Comment 3 michael.ruess 2000-11-23 12:53:11 UTC
Forgot to set the "CLOSED" button
Comment 4 issues@www 2000-11-30 22:58:26 UTC
The file came from a Word 97 source originally.

I am not very happy with the "Closed because it works if you
save it with "Office 2000" first.

May be Office 2000 handles track changes slightly differtently to 97but we
should still be able to cope with it's input. Afterall, Office 2000 manageed
to cope with it easily enough!

MRU->CMC: JP said, that this problem is not affected by the changes. It might be
caused by the "Fast Save"-Option in WW. So please have a look at it if there's a
chance for us to solve this.
