Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 17637
Automatic column widths
Last modified: 2014-03-23 15:04:48 UTC
It would be great if it was possible to tell OOo to automatically adjust the column widths of a table based on the content of the table, even as one writes. There are the styles style:use-optimal-column-width and style:use-optimal-column-height defined in the dtds/style.mod in CVS, but they don't seem to be available for tables at all.
SBA: Reassigned to Bettina from the User Experience team for consideration.
Having OOo Writer tables behave as html tables do in a web browser (in terms of column width) in real time would indeed be great. It's a feature that is present in recent versions of MS Word, and its lack is the only sore point I have with OOo.
