Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 238
Change "OpenOffice" to "OpenOffice.Org"
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:32 UTC
In the installation program, the word "OpenOffice" is used. We do not have the rights to this term and it is owned by someone else. Please use "OpenOffice.Org" as the name of the program.
Hi Olli, as Bill has written, we don't have the right to use "openOffice".
please change the producname for openoffice installation script.
Ingo, This is a veryy important issue, since we could get sued for using OpenOffice, since we do not own this trademark. Please change "OpenOffice" to "OpenOffice.org" in both the installation screen as well the Splash screen. Call me if you have questions.
Okay, I will change our variable %PRODUCTNAME from OpenOffice to OpenOffice.org (small o in org). Christian Jansen has to make a new setup bitmap and also bitmaps for the splash-screen and the aboutbox.
In the src619 D there is still the wrong setup bitmap. Besides the setup-cinema texts have to be updated. This will be fixed in the next version.
Oh sorry, the mistakes do not occur in a src619 D, but in a src619 B, build 6103.
It is important that we do this since we could get sued over this.
Also, OpenOffice shows up in some of the next that shows up while the installation happens. Make sure this gets changed too. Thanks. br
Have we made any progress on this?
The new OpenOffice.org version will be a src625. In this version the setup bitmap and the setup-cinema texts will have OpenOffice.org instead of OpenOffice.
Checked it out. Fixed. Thanks.
IS: Then we should finally close this bug
