Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23877
Formatting options for Text
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:37:54 UTC
I have suggested already to allow gradient fills for text objects. But actually it would make sense to allow all formatting options like gradients, fills, strokes and so on not only for text backgrounds, but for the text itself as well. Besides the gradient fill (See Issue Nr. 10642) especially the stroke and a more flexible shadow option would be helpful. But implementing the same set of options like for any other graphic object would really make sense.
Reassigned to Bettina.

Just checked in version 2.4 and the issue is still unresolved. Just checked through the Graphics Style dialog. I think it would be interesting to take the same dialog for Line, Area, Shadow and Transparency, and make them applicable for text and the background independently. That would improve the creativity for text formatting quite a bit...
