Sometimes you need to select whitespace between words.   
 
For example, when you have some text like: 
 
"word1 <sp1> <sp2> <tab1> <sp3> <sp3> word2" 
 
(<spN>  is space one, space two etc.) 
 
if you click between word1 and <sp1>, word1 is selected. 
if you click anywhere else, except word1 or word2, word2 is selected. 
 
I would prefer that <sp1> <sp2> <tab1> <sp3> <sp3>  are selected instead.

latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed.

This issue has not yet been addressed in the current stable version (2.4.x) or 
the 3.x beta. 

Issue 88620 (Double-click white space to select) is a duplicate (almost) of 
this issue.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
