Description sander_traveling 2004-01-20 00:53:10 UTC
As things stand, OOo does not support substracting or intersecting 3D objects.
This makes doing anything requiring not totaly straightforward manipulation of
solid objects unbearably hard or even impossible. Hence a request for
enhancement - OOo should support substracting and inetrsecting not just 2D but
also 3D objects.

Changing issue type to enhancement.
Reassigned to Bettina.

I think this goes far beyond the scope of this sofware. I don't think the 3D
objects are "real" 3D - they are simple vector objects (with rudimentary editing
capabilities) which mimicks the 3D objects. Interpreting complex 3D boolean
objects with this technique is quite impossible. CMIIW.

Fixing this issue would need the implementation of 3D axises (for correct
alignment of objects), different views etc. Basically all UI elements you have
in full fledged 3D softwares. You can see why I think this is impossible (and
even undesirable).

P5 (or Invalid) would be appropriate to this as there is many much more
important features to implement. Furthermore, I think this is a feature, not
enchancement.
