1  Open writer

2  double click the grey area in the left ruler.  This doesn't have any effect 
whereas the same brings up the Paragraph dialog in the top ruler.

*** DClicking inside the ruler space within the white area brings up the same 
dialog with 'Tabs' selected. This is OK.

I think Dclicking the grey area in both the rulers should open the Page 
Formatting Dialog.  Please give a thought.

Further the lower end of the left ruler has some grey area at the bottom end, 
even though the page is not ending there. This should be white until the usable 
area is shown and then turn grey from where the page ends.

-changing issue type to Defect as atleast the Paragraph dialog is coming up 
when the top ruler is double-clicked and it is not working for the left side 
ruler.

-version changed to 680m32

It's a bug but it will not be fixed for 2.0. 
I'd prefer to bring up the paragraph dialog only with a click on the ruler that
shows paragraph settings. In horizontal writing it's the top ruler. In vertical
writing the vertical ruler should bring up the dialog.
