Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 273
In upper edge of each window black line is not drawn.
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:34 UTC
In upper frame of each window the black line is not drawn (it's drawn on all other 3 edges - right, left, bootom). This makes it hard to distinguish where the border of the window is when several windows are stacked, as on screenshot (I've drawn an area where windows separate) - provided Window Manager doesn't draw titlebars utilizing full widgh of the window. Of course there is no such problem if window manager draws window titlebars that have the width of the windows.
Hi Vlad! I've had absolutely no problem, maybe your windowmanager is the Problem?
Hi Uwe, As I said, it depends on the window manager theme. Other toolkits (like gtk, qt) draw a line on the edges of the window. OO's widgetset also draws, but only on 3 edges - on all of 4 except on the topmost. All I ask is to draw a line on the topmost edge too. Suggestions to change the window manager's theme are not accepted :)
Hi Vlad! What about another Windowmanager? ;-) But serious, we will not fix it during the next few years, maybe you find somebody in the community who will. We have too many urgent problems to fix and there is really no time for your "special" problem. But it seems to me that you know a lot of developers without work, please tell them that we have a lot to do here in Germany (drawing black lines) and they are really welcome ;-) Regards, Uwe Luebbers
Hi Uwe! It's a pity that you are postpoining such a trivial change :( As for other developers I may know - do you invite them to work on a professional basis (i.e. paid work)? If yes, I may suggest some people (and hey, may be I can personally join you too (may be working as a manager for those developers)- working for Sun is nice thing!). I'm tired of fixing that AbiWord personally...
changing QA contact from bugs@ to issues@
We really try our best to look good in every theme, I hope our focus on systemintegration will avoid most of this kind of bugs in the future. Regards, Uwe Luebbers
