I have had WordPerfect for Windows for quite some time, and I have quite a few 
files in .wpd format.  I have noticed that the files are much smaller than the 
equivalent .doc files (Word), and that WordPerfect has not changed the format 
for several releases (version 6,7,8, and 9 all use it).  If possible, I really 
would like the ability to read/import files in wpd format.  If in addition we 
could write out to that format, even better.

A Word Perfect Filter (import only) is available in StarOffice 5.2 (OOs 
predecessor, so to speak), but since this is third party software, it is not 
included in OO. Since this is (esp. the export option) a request for 
enhancement, I will reassign this to Falko Tesch.

There is no filter development (apart from MS Office 97/2000 ones) on-going.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
