Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 27838
very slow scrolling because textframes are rendered slowly
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:29:38 UTC
If you generate a document by the attached file "Sitzplan-Vorlage", you will see that scrolling is very slow and OOo is nearly freezing. The textframes are drawn so slowly, that you can watch the drawing. The reason must be somewhere in the file, because a similar file (attached, "Sitzplan_korrigiert") works fine. As diskussed on users@de.openoffice.org, the issue seems to depend on Win98. Users with WinXP, Mandrake 10 and Suse 8.2 have no problems.
Created attachment 14529 [details] the defect template, original was on the cited URL
Created attachment 14530 [details] a similar design, which works
Reassigned to Christian. Please test on Win 98. Thanks.
is it possible to get a step by step description to reproduce the slow document?
set to new and change the target
I see the bug in the attached document but I can't reproduce it witch an own document. Please have a look if you can see what's going wrong.
No, I have no step-by-step description, because I have got it from the "Community Server" of SUN-Germany, which URL I have sited. I myself had similar effects from time to time especially with formulas in writer, but I didn't try to reproduce them, I made new documents.
After my observation concerning "Pair kerning" in issue 28765 I have had again a look at the "Sitzplan-Vorlage.std". I found "Pair kerning" here too. After I removed them all, the document is rendered in normal speed. So I think the bug is connected with "Pair kerning".
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
