Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 280
from the professional end-user point of view, how can usability be enhanced
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:34 UTC
I am a graphic designer and have tested many graphic suites, such as corel draw, adobe illustrator and photoshop, macromedia flash amonngst others. from these those which I find most intuitive and usable are from adobe and macromedia, which are VERY similar on their keyboard shortcuts (which greatly enhace productivity). But so many peope use corel, and it has a nice feature which is a customizable interface, so you can use Illustrator's set of shortcuts. another thing is the 3d object stuff. they are nice, but the editing capabilities are SO limited! i'd like to set the degrees of rotation, skewing, translation and scaling by hand, JOINing objects together in a single point of view and light sources (FOV etc) or BREAKing them apart into two or more ambient settings.
Reassigned to Falko, who is responsible for evaluating enhancements.
Since we are no Graphics Suite none of the enhancements below aim on our average user. Though we will enhancew our 3-D engine interface eventually.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
