Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
Precondition/reference: Writerperfect plugin version 0.2.0 in combination with OOo 1.1.1 To reproduce: Load attached document -> The tabs at the beginning of a line are ignored.
Created attachment 14817 [details] Word Perfect document with tabs at paragraph start
I leave it to you to set an appropriate target milestone., William.
Nothing has changed at this issue since months, therefore I change the target to 'OOo later'. If it is possible to get fixes until OOo 2.0, you can retarget this issue. thx
Fixed in cws_src680_libwpdupgrade
Just FYI: The leading left tab is as for now converted as first line indent. This is given to an ambiguity in the sense of this tab whether it is inside a style definition (i.e. list bullet + tab) or in the plain beginning of a line. From the layout point of view, the indent and tab produce the same result. The tabs will be under more refactoring during libwpd-0.8.x release cycle.

See my previous comments: I would consider it fixed, but decide yourself.
When the tasks should be fixed, then it should be in the correct state. I change this task to 'resolved/fixed'.
SBA: I agree with the "layout point of view". The leading tabs are gone, but the respective indent looks good. Looks good in OOo 1.9.123.
fridrich_strba->sba: thanks for your agreement :-) I have been rewriting the internals of libwpd in order to import the layout more faithfully, and I realized that there is actually no way to know whether a left tab should start a paragraph or not. In the WordPerfect document stream, a left tab followed by a left indent is fuctionally equvalent to two consecutive left indents. It is maybe the reason why MS Office is converting left tabs by first page indents systematically if they are at the beginning of the paragraph.
SBA->Fridrich: Thanks for the insight :-) Closing this one now.
