Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28768
Textbox limitations
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:40:08 UTC
I am actually refering to the discussion in Issue #5713 that lead to the conclusion that the use textboxes is far too restricted. Well, this is not only true for portability reasons. As an example, designing in headers is limited due to the fact that frames behave a bit of "weird" in headers and that textboxes do not accept fields nor graphics. I am aware that the drawing tools in the current versions are far enough for most of the designing tasks. However, enhanced textboxes would go one step further and cover the remaining needs.
MRU->zuperuser: the use of frames in headers/footers has been heavily enhanced for OO 2.0. See snapshot build for this. MRU-BH: At the moment, drawing textboxes are not capable of containing fields or graphics.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
