Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28889
"Defective Java installation"-warning when accessing treelistbox to select a script
Last modified: 2004-05-25 10:06:26 UTC
Reproduction: 1. Make sure you have a working java installation in e.g /usr/j2re1.4.2_06 2. Install the Office as root to /opt/somedir for all users, choose the java from (1.) 3. become ordinary user, start soffice from /opt/somedir 4. new doc 5. tools/configure 6. Tab "Events" 7. access the script selection treebox -> a warning will be displayed that java is damaged. On "OK" the java-setup is started, selecting the same java as in (2.) works - after restarting the office. Two problems here: 1. What do i need Java for when assigning BASIC macros? 2. The Java should be detected/used correctly in the first place
1) You don't, but as the Script Selector now displays macros is all languages Java will be needed to display the macros in JavaScript, BeanShell & Java. 2) The problem with the defective Java installation is independent of the scripting framework (occurs for Java compoonents) and so should be reassigned to whomever is responsible for the Java-UNO bridge.
JSK->MBA: Who owns the Java UNO bridge? Can you assign this task, please? THX
done. :-)
This task is obsolete due to CWS jl6 which incorporates changes to the way Java is handled. Changing Owner back to me
