Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 29396
Polygons with rounded corners
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:35:16 UTC
Polygons with rounded corners should be supported. Today it already is possible to change the corner radius of rectangles using the 'position and size' dialog and then switching to the 'slant & corner radius' tab. This dialog can be openend for polygons too, but the corner radius settings are disabled. Constructing lots of polygons with rounded corners by hand, using arcs and lines or connectors can become a very annoying job. Yet some types of technical diagrams do require that style (for instance FMC plans - http://fmc.hpi.uni-potsdam.de) and this feature really helps to improve layout. Comparisons with VISIO show, that such a feature would significantly help to improve performance when creating those graphics.

OOo2.0.2rc4 offers a lot of shapes with rounded corners. Feel free to reopen it if this is not the case. Thank you. Hwoarang
.
The functionality of OOo2.0.2rc4 is fine, however it does not address this special requirement. The challenge is to create any kind of polygon or zigzag line with rounded corners as illustrated in the example. Solving this task by a predefined set of shapes, is virtually impossible: Looking at the example, you will find that one cannot create this drawing by using the predefined shapes. So problems remains as originally described. Such a feature would greatly enhance the power of OpenOffice. Thank you. Andreas
Please rename this issue to "polygons with rounded sides"; there is already support for "polygons with rounded corners" via the "Position and Size" dialog.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
