Description tobiasweih 2004-05-26 18:59:30 UTC
when adding Hyperlinks to a html-document it is very unconvinient, that the
tree - where I select the target - colapses, as soon as I jump back to the text.

MRU->ES: pls have a look.

Please describe precisely what you do what you get, what you expect.
Comment 3 tobiasweih 2004-05-27 14:24:19 UTC
I do:
  I wanted to add a TOC to a html-Page, but I had to do this by hand, so I
defined a bunch of anchors and I linked a handwritten TOC to this anchors.
Therfore I mark a TOC entry, open the Hyperlink-Dialog and chose a target.

I get:
  This target is displayed in a tree, so far so good, but when I jump back into
my document and write the next TOC-entry, this tree with targets colapses. So I
have to open the tree again, scroll down to my last target and chose the next
one.

I expect:
  a automatic generation of a HTML-TOC (but I opened a seperate bug). In the
hyperlink dialog I expect the tree with targets to stay open and my last choosen
entry should stay selected. so this bug is about useability-convinience (only).

BTW: the tree with targets not only colapses when jumping back to the document
and typing but it seems to happen periodically. As soon as I don't watch it, it
collapses :)

Mmh... when you click in the document and then back in the hyperlink dialog,
this dialog updates, the "Target in document" floating also and automatically
colapses. I don't know if this is fixable.

Here is an easier weay to generate manually a TOC in a HTML page:
- define your chapters as Heading1-10
- open the NAvigator (F5)
- drag&drop the headings from the Navigator into the document
-> you get hyperlinks

ES->OS:
- type 2 lines of text (2 paragraphs)
- format as heading1
- select the 1st one
- call the hyperlink dialog
- select the "Document" tabpage
- call the target floating
- expand the heading tree
- apply target double-clicking on the heading
- don't close floating or hyperlink dialog and select the second line in the
document
- come back to the hyperlink dialog
-> the target floating updates its content and colapses the tree.

Expected: update without colapsing the tree

I agree that this needs fixing (tree should not collapse). I also noticed that
looking away from the tree "makes" it collapse. That sounds like a joke, but I
have not been able to catch it collapsing.
