Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3035
colored text, but tabulator-sign still black
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:38:45 UTC
if i type text in a different color (e.g. red) and i enable those special signs for paragraph, the centered dot for space and the arrow for tabulator, paragraph's reversed P and the centered space-dot are in the color of the text, but not the tabulator sign. my request: also the color of the tabulator-arrow should be in text-color.
Beside this, the size of the "Tab" and "Line break" (<Shift>+<Enter>) character don't change when the document zoom factor or the font size gets changed. At times, SO/OO behaves like MS Word, only that Word doesn't colour the paragraph end mark either. Eric: As discussed, all this will be subject for acessibility discussions. Reassigned to Eric
ES->CJ: I think too we'll have to change this but... to exactly the contrary of the feature request. Why? non-printing signs are not elements of the text and therefore must NOT follow the text format. They are exactly like fields shadings or text boundaries lines. They shouldn't change their appearance with the context but should be defined by the user him/herself over the options. This is a requirement or at least what we have in sight for accessibilty, I think?
it should change it's color, because it could be a dark/black backgroud. then you cannot see those signs!
Reassigned to Bettina.
I would definitely prefer the ability to set the embedded control codes to any color. Then those who like them being the same color can get that. Those like me who would rather have them be cyan or whatever, so they don't interefere as much with reading the text, would get that. The default should almost certainly not be the same as the text color. I say "cyan" because your eyes will slide right over it on a white background, but other colors are reasonable. Right now this is my #1 irritation with swriter, now that the paragraph styles dialog can be dragged out of the window. I do complex enough things that the control codes are visibly in the way, but I have to have them on.
