Description hflees 2004-07-15 01:08:54 UTC
I'm impressed with the improvement of "table in table" and "table over page".
Both are good if the tables not complex. I noticed 2 items need to be improved:-
1. Table in table over page. When there are many "table in table", the over
page does not really work, expecially for the inner most table.
2. OOo follows M$ Word "Insert table" defect. Click the insert table button
which allows to drag no of rows and columns (Click arrow down of the insert
table buton) . E.g. Select 5 rows and 5 cols, then go back to 3 rows and 3
cols. You should notice the 5 rows and 5 cols remain but only 3 rows and 3 cols
selected. Imagine 15x15 selected but the user later decided 1x1 only! It would
be "better" if the selectable follow the mouse drag.

Thanks for good works.

MRU->FME: generally this works, but see attached sample. This is a case which
might occur when pasting content/tables from Web-pages.

FME->MRU: In your example, the inner table consists of one one row. This is a
repeated headline which is not allowed to split.
Comment 5 hflees 2004-07-16 00:01:36 UTC
Shouldn't be the headline continue to next page, instead of hiding below the
page?
Comment 6 frank.meies 2004-07-16 06:47:56 UTC
No, this is a *headline*, it cannot be split. If it has to split to the next
page, it would have to insert itself in front of it on the second page again,
because a headline has to be repeated at the beginning of each part of a split
table.

I admit you are correct on headline. I think there still rooms for improvement
instead of let it hanging. Check how M$ Word do it.

Any idea on the insert table (item 2)?
