Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 32
Tools->Configure->Keyboard missing some bindings
Last modified: 2006-02-07 17:56:26 UTC
This actually belongs under some more global catagory, but I can find none that seems proper. The keymap configurator under Tools->Configure->Keyboard is missing some key bindings that I find that I would like to change. For example, I think I sould be able to change simple bindings like Forward a character (currently the right arrow key), goto end of line (end), and so on. Less important to me, but still on the wishlist, are the ability to change the keybindings that control highlighting (shift and the arrow keys), and the ability to enter multiple keys as a keybinding (e.g. control-x control-s to save). What I really want is emacs keymap emulation, but if the existing keymap configurator could allow this, then distributing an emacs keymap would be possible.
The more "global category" you are looking for is the project "framework". If you read it's description you'll find out that this is the place to go in the future. Thanks.
Sorry, when changing the product from "word processor" to "framework" I forgot to reassign the issue to the appropriate person.
For this is an enhancement Falko is the right person to handle it.
Will continue work on this isssue asap.

Along these lines, I would like to see SHORCUT KEYS made available for binding to STYLES as well (maybe group them in the organizer like Macros?)
I see that in Windows you can't use Alt as a modifier in the keyboard biondings. This is a real shame.
Hmm, we in the meantime we re-worked most of our key-bindings (accessibilty issue in 1.1) so most of your desires should be covered. Please re-evaluate and close if appropiate. Thx.
I don't know why I'm the owner of this, though it's rather chic to be on issue 32. As far as I can see, there are two issues here. The original one can be closed. the second one, which I raised, is about having alt available as a keyboard modifier. That's still not possible, and still desirable. should I raise it as a new RFE? I'm trying to get into IZ to see if a similar issue exists, but having trouble in the other window. it looks to me as if 6302 and 11004 are the same issue. But I can't get a response fro IZ more than once every five times this evening, so I will post this here now
What's left of this issue is a duplicate of #6342. It may also have been solved by the patch in #11004, but I'm not certain I have understood that. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 6342 ***
.
Closing. Regards, Andrew
