Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 32202
Bitmap export ignores DPI and size settings
Last modified: 2004-07-28 12:16:05 UTC
When exporting a drawing from OOo 1.1.2 to a bitmap file (e.g. BMP format) there is a box where you can input required bitmap resolution in DPI or absolute units. But regardless of what is chosen, the program produces a bitmap in screen resolution - typically 75 DPI. When output format is set to TIFF or JPG there's no option at all to set resolution, and the default result is again - 75 DPI.
Yes that is true. The dpi resolution is just for the logical size of the exported graphic. Please open an exported file IrfanView or Photoshop for example: the file info tells you the dpi the file was exported in. And this is 600dpi if I have exported it in 600dpi. This size is also visible when inserting the graphic back into a draw document: the bigger the dpi size is the smaller will the inserted file be displayed. But the actual files size in KB or MB is the same for all exported resolutions. Thanks for your help. This may not be what you expected but it works like it is supposed to be.
Closed.
How do you examine the resolution?
