Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 34273
First accentuated letter not appear in a draw
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:45:03 UTC
Hi, The first accentuated letter does not appear in the following condition: In an OLE drawing of the word module, or in draw module, draw an object (rectangle, ellipse, etc.) but text box. Select this object. Press an accentuated letter as é, ê, etc; as in école, a french word. The letter does not appear and the selected font is Gothic on Linux or Lucida sans unicode on Microsoft Windows XP Home. These fonts are not used in other place or option, but are present on the system. On Windows XP Home, the letter is replaced by a rectangle, not on Linux. Then press c letter, it appears normally in the normal font (Times or Times new Roman). The other letters appear also normally. An accentuated letter in the middle of the word as in the french word forêt appears normally. OS : Mandrake Linux 9.2 and Microsoft Windows XP pack 2. OOo, french version, 645m44, build 8784. Regards.
Reproducible. I get an vertical line when I start a word with an é. Reassigned to Christian.
Set to new.
Same problem in OOo 680m1 (2.0 beta 2).
This issue is still present in final 2.3.0 release. I get a rectangle.
This issue is still present in final 3.0 beta release. I get a rectangle on the place of É.
This issue is still present in 3.0 beta release. I get a rectangle on the place of É.
This issue is also present in 2.4.1. On Linux, a rectangle is displayed followed by a space before the other characters. Is the accentuated letter detected as a list index ?
This issue is still present in OOo 3.0.1. Let é with E9 its unicode. OOo records FFE9 unicode instead in the odt file and on the display. That is the bug. With all accentuated letter, OOo adds FF code before the unicode when this letter is the first in the rectangle for any fonts.
This issue is still present in 3.1 release.
This issue is still present in 3.2 release.
This issue is still present in 4.0.0 release. I think that this issue is not trivial but minor or normal.
This issue will be ten years old at the next year.
