Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3472
New tab positioning method: offset from left page margin
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:39:44 UTC
Currently, tab positions are defined with respect to the paragraph indent. It would be useful to allow a user to define tab positions with respect to the left margin of the page, as well. The two different positioning methods could be differentiated in the UI by using slightly modified icons for margin-offset tab stops in the ruler. I suggest placing an "M" character or a left arrow "<-" over the ordinary (indent-offset) icon to indicate that a stop is margin-offset. If this is implemented, one should also be able to make the automatic (default) tab stops either indent-offset or margin-offset.
