Description issues@www 2001-02-01 00:40:59 UTC
Didn't know which category to put this in, sorry if this one isn't it..

Running Solaris 8 Jan 01 (or Oct 01). I install soffice onto local disk and then
attempt to execute it only to get "Aborted (core dumped)". This happens on
several Sun platforms. When I try to install it via setup -net, it appears to
have the same problem. Installation goes without any problems or core dumpage.

I have truss output to show what's happening.

In anycase, this is preventing me from running soffice altogether, thus it's a
Priority 1.

I changed this to installation -- after reading about someone with a similar
problem under linux, it appears that the problem might be that
libportalconnect.so can not be found. Here's the relevant 'truss' output:

Notice that it attempts to find libportalconnect.so but it can't find it. This
happened to be on a non-net install, but I get the same problem with net
installs.. Where can I get libportalconnect.so?

Hi Olaf!
I think this one belongs to your collection.
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2001-02-02 15:34:46 UTC
Hello Olli,
I haven't had that problem on our solaris8, do you have any clue what went
wrong?
Comment 4 Unknown 2001-02-27 10:43:28 UTC
Thanks. I will debug within the next few days.
Comment 5 issues@www 2001-02-27 16:56:40 UTC
Someone else here, in the factory, has independently gotten this to install and
run, but I didn't see anything different in the way he installed it vs the way I
did. He could not run my installed version..

So, I guess what I'm saying is that we might be dealing with an environmental
issue or some kind here. Let me know if I can help.

me. Please let me know if you still have problems when using 641 c
(or later ).

details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
