Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 35860
User-defined connectors
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:42:57 UTC
OpenOffice supports a fixed set of connectors that can be used to link objects together. Connectors automatically change, if one of its connected objects is moved around. To create special diagrams one usually needs a specialized set of connectors. For an example see issue 13455 that requests a special form of connector for database designs. Since it is impractical to request a new feature for each new sort of diagrams (e.g. UML diagrams), it would be better to support user-defined connectors. I do not yet have a definite idea, how to realize (and edit) user-defined connectors, but I mean it's worth thinking about. Maybe, it could be feasible to construct connectors by grouping connectors with other connectors and non-connector objects. This issue is also related to issue 7726 and issue 8132.
Reassigned to Bettina.
