Description issues@www 2001-02-02 11:40:53 UTC
Hi,

I successfully installed OpenOffice 614 (from binaries)
on my Slackware 7.0 / kernel 2.2.18 / glibc-2.1 / Gnome 1.2.4
linux PC.
But...
bernis:~$ /opt/openoffice60/soffice
I18N: Operating system doesn't support locale ""
Warning: locale not supported by C library, locale unchanged
Abandon

And if I try :
bernis:~$ LC_ALL=C /opt/openoffice60/soffice
Abandon

It's the same (note : abandon means abort in french).

This is the same issue as number 289, but the proposed fix (install
614) is effectless.
My config is laptop Celeron 650 / 128MB RAM / 1.5GB free on hard
disk.

any clue?

Hi Olli,
I haven't seen this error before. Do you have any suggestions what might be the
problem?

Hi,

The message
	I18N: Operating system doesn't support locale ""
indicates that your locale settings aren't supported by your operating system.
If OOo or SO encounters that situation it switches back to the POSIX ("C")
locale. It is a hint that you cannot expect language specific input support. By
no means does it abort() the application. Setting LC_ALL=C has the same effect.

Please provide more information about the crash (stacktrace). Please consider as
well updating to a more recent version.

regards
Christof
