Description issues@www 2001-02-07 18:27:07 UTC
Clicking the master document or the presentation shortcut in the start
menu causes a page fault. Spreadsheet an Wordprocessor are both working whitout problems so far.
This happens only on my win98 machine, the other one here works
fine. Also on my SuSE linux 7 all works fine (but that's also a different machine)!

p.s. I run build 614 on a suse linux 7 terminal server, and although it takes a while to get the program started on a terminal console, all is working great!

Both win98 machines run win98 second edition dutch language.
The working machine is a dell latitude laptop: intel pentium 3 400Mhz - 64mb - NeoMagic video card, the not working one is a home build system: intel celeron 333 MHz 130Mb - asus v3200 video card.

Here's the windows error box message.

My win98SE includes following module

kernel32.dll
4.10.2222
korean

It has something to with the type of win98 used upon setting up windows.
I always had this problem, and my collegue not, but i used 98lite professional,
in either of the lite or micro modes. Now I still use 98lite, but this time the
full setup of win 98 and now all works fine. And i still use the localized
version.

The type and version of kernel32.dll is not relevant in my opinion.
What happens when windows shows this message is an overflow of a table or stack.
It's called a page fault, and the kernel is preventing the program from doing
so, thereby keeping the system running and secure. So the kernel32.dll is just
doing it's job right.

Yes, I agree with you...

and, I found out new symptom which could be clue about this issue.

  1) if I execute simpress.exe(presentation) directly, page fault occurs..
  2) but, If I execute soffice.exe and open presentation file, all works well..

So, I think the reason of this issue lies in simpress.exe/sglobal.exe...

Anyway, Now this problem is not serious problem.. so I want to change the state
of issue.
but I don't know exact meaning of each state..

So, I want someone change the state..

Thank you.

Hi!

Changed the prio to 3, it doesn't hurt so much.

I think it's something with OLE<->UNO bridge because I've found crash in trying
to programmatically open Service Manager.

I forgot to mention that above comment refers to build 632.
Besides crashes on "master document" and "presentation" in the start menu, I
also found that OO crashes when I click on an .xsw file in the windows file
manager. And it doesn't make a difference whether OO is already running or not.

Looks good and works fine in a OpenOffice 641c. Bug isn`t reproducible
and seems to be fixed.
