Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 40650
print selected cell range prints way too much
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
I select say column 1 and 4, and I get printed all from column 1 to column 4. Not quite what I wanted.
I can confirm this issue using OO 1.9.71.1 on Linux (Suse 9.2). Selecting only one row or column works fine, but selecting multiple rows or columns makes OO print too much.
I replicated it. i using OOo1.1.4, windows2000 5.00.2195 sevice pack 4 and also i tried to select 3 and 4 columns, it printer all column between the first and the last column which i have chosen, not only what i chosen.
I was able to reproduce this bug in 1.9.74, on Windows 2000 5.0.2195 SP4. 1. Create a spreadsheet with 4 columns and 10 rows, with random numbers in each cell. 2. Select the range B4:C8 3. Click File > Print. Under Print Range, choose Selection. 4. Hit Okay. The range should print as selected. 5. Select only columns A and D. 6. Click File > Print. Under Print Range, choose Selection. Only columns A and D should print, but all four columns will print. FYI, if you select only one column, only that column will print. I think this was originally reported in issue 28965, albeit not with enough detail.
One for the requirements team
It was reproduced in OOo 1.1.4 Windows XP Professional, Version 5.1, Build 2600, Service Pack 1. The bug can be reproduced by executing the following steps: 1. Open an existing Spreadsheet file 2. Select row 2 and row 4 3. Select “File -> Print”, click on “Selection”, and click on “OK” Print result: all contents from row 2 to row 4, including the contents of row 3. A follow-up test reproduced the bug by replacing Step 2 with "Select D3:D18 and G3:G7", print result is incorrect, i.e. print the area from D3:G18.
I was able to reproduce the problem in the following environments: - MS Windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4, OpenOffice 1.1.4 - Red Hat Linux 7.3 Kernel 2.4.26, OpenOffice 1.1.0 Steps Followed: 1.Start Open Office 2.Open a new spreadsheets 3.Add spreadsheet with some data (any data) 4.Select non adjacent columns or rows (eg: select row 3 and row 5 by selecting the range C and E) 5.Go to “File -> Print” and choose “selection” from the “print range” box. 6.Click Ok 7.Observe Results The printed page will contain data from rows/columns in between and including the selected rows/columns. The printed page will contain data from row 3,4,5 (range C:E). This is incorrect.
