Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46656
It's not obvious that I can edit the red word before I replace misspelled text with it using Spell Checker.
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
It should be more obvious that I can edit the red word in the upper box in the Spell Checker before I replace misspelled text with it. In previous versions, I was able to edit a word on the Word line and then click Replace. Now, it's in the actual sentence while it's red. Place a note such as "You may edit the text below and click Change." above that text box, not just "Not in dictionary." STEPS: At a blank screen type asdf, move the cursor in front of it and press F7. The Spell Checker highlights as misspelled and puts it in red in the top text box. It doesn't state anywhere that I can edit that red word. Unless I tried it (because I knew from previous versions) I would have never known. In fact, I added this bug and had to change it when I tried to edit the red word.
Reassigned to SBA.
SBA: see http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/linguistic/Spellcheckdialog.sxw, chapter 4.6.2 "Edit Current Sentence in Spelling Dialog" SBA->UFI: Pressing <F1> or clicking "help" when the Spellcheck dialog is up does not bring up an appropriate help page. Given the fact that this dialog was reworked recently, this should be fixed for OOo 2.01. Prio changed to P3. Please clarify with OS (he reworked the dialog).
Added changed help IDs to file text\shared\01\06010000.xhp Now the issue originally was an enhancement request to change the dialog, if I read erics's words correct. Dialog now works as specified, but I can confirm that the specification is no good in terms of usability.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
